Idemili Progressive Union is a non-profit organisation open to every son and daughter of old Idemili Local Government Area (North and South) of Anambra State Nigeria residing in The Netherlands. The union carries out charity work for the less privileged ones in Idemili local government area of Anambra State and also takes care of member’s welfare.

The Old Idemili Local goverment

Anambra State is in the Southeast geo-political zone of Nigeria, with Awka as the state capital.The present Anambra State was created in August 1991 from the old one that was created in 1976, when the then East-Central State was divided into Anambra and Imo States.
Anambra State shares boundaries with Kogi State to the North; Enugu State to the East; Imo, Abia and Rivers states to the South; and Delta and Edo States to the West.
The origin of the name is derived from the Anambra River (Omambala) which is a tributary of the famous River Niger.
The indigenous ethnic group in Anambra state are the Igbo (98% of population) and a small population of Igala (2% of the population) who live mainly in the north-western part of the state.

Idemili South and part of Dunukofia in Anambra State, Nigeria
Idemili North is a Local Government Area in Anambra State, south-east Nigeria. Towns that make up the local government are Abacha, Abatete, Eziowelle, Ideani, Nkpor, Obosi, Ogidi, Oraukwu, Uke, Umuoji
Idemili South is a Local Government Area in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria. Towns that make up the local government are Akwaukwu, Alor, Awka-Etiti, Nnobi, Nnokwa, Oba, Ojoto.
The state has a land area of 4,416 sq.km. The state’s population from the 2006 Census data was 4,182,032.
There are twenty-one (21) Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state. They are: Aguata, Awka North, Awka South, Anambra East, Anambra West, Anaocha, Ayamelum Dunukofia,
